Special Education
Associate of Science in Teaching

 

Students should check with the university to which they intend to transfer in case there are additional requirements needed for admittance to the Special Education Program. Students transferring to UTK need to be formally admitted to the program during semester four.

Additional A.S.T. degree requirements:

  • Attainment of a 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • ACT score of 21 or successful completion of the PRAXIS CORE exam (MTSU and UTC require a 22 ACT score)
  • Satisfactory ratings on an index of suitability for the teaching profession

History (6 credit hours)


Mathematics (3 credit hours)


Natural Science (8 credit hours)

All special education majors who are required to take Learning Support must also complete MSCC 1300 First-Year Experience , and the degree program will require 63 credit hours.
