ASL 2020 - Intermediate American Sign Language II3 sem hrs cr
A course that involves conversational practice, experience in signing music and the mastery of 100 additional American sign language idioms. Prerequisite: ASL 2010
In rare and unusual circumstances, a course prerequisite can be overridden with the permission of the Department Lead for the discipline.

By the end of the course, students will be able to…
- engage in more advanced ASL conversations at an appropriate level of formality.
- engage in culturally and politically relevant topics.
- use and understand ASL in conversations about the body and health, food and dining, clothing and shopping, holidays and celebrations, and travel.
- critically analyze and translate written text into ASL Gloss.
- show knowledge and respect to deaf culture.
- identify and discuss the history of oppression within deaf history, both foreign and its influence on America.
- discuss contributions of the deaf community in history, art, politics, music, and literature.
