Topics 2990 - Topics All disciplines offer a Topics Course, so indicated by the normal course designation followed by the section number 99 (for example. ENGL 1010 99). A designation of 2990 is reserved for specially designed Topics Course, driven by need, designed by the course instructor, and approved by the appropriate curriculum chair. A topics course permits the development of a specific study project under the supervision of a discipline instructor. A topics course must be developed by the instructor who will supervise the activity and must be approved by the student’s advisor and the curriculum chair to which the discipline is assigned. The credit for a topics course may vary from one to five hours. No more than six semester credit hours earned in topics courses may be used in meeting minimum degree requirements.
