BIOT 2450 - Biotechnology Internship

An experience external to the college for a student in a specialized field, involving a written agreement between the educational institution and a business, industry or research facility. Mentored by a workplace employee, the student achieves objectives that are developed and documented by the college that are directly related to specific occupational outcomes. This may be a paid or unpaid experience.

  Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to…

• submit a thorough and competitive employment application and resume for work the highly specialized field of biotechnology.
• integrate into an enterprise and develop professional relationships within that organization 
• communicate experimental findings using scientific language and appropriate syntax for review by supervisors or peers. 
• execute a scientific protocol and troubleshoot real or potential problems encountered in the execution of the protocol.
