DIST 1000 - Introduction to Distillery Operations

This survey course addresses equipment selection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and best practices in production and product development.  Students are introduced to concepts of energy resources, production calculations, proofing, gauging methods, evaluation techniques, blending considerations, barrel wood selection and construction, and bottling processes. Developing and marketing a brand and navigating regulatory and legal issues are introduced. All purchases will follow appropriate TBR policies and rules.
