Braking Systems covers electric vehicle braking systems, including electric power brake assist, electric parking brake systems, and regenerative braking systems. Topics include theory, operation, diagnosis, service, and repair of electrically controlled brake system components and control systems.

- Locate, identify, and describe components of a brake system
- Explain the various types of controls (ABS, ESP, ASR…)
- Evaluate and measure components (rotor thickness, caliper function)
- Explain master cylinder and power assist functions
- Identify and describe ABS module, speed and pressure sensors, and brake light switch
- Assess braking systems and identify service needs
