ADMN 1307 - Survey of Coding3 sem hrs cr
This course provides an overview of coding and classification systems in a variety of healthcare settings. Topics include classification and coding systems emphasizing ICD and CPT, reimbursement/billing systems, and coding’s relationship to health information management. Upon completion, students should be able to apply coding principles to correctly assign ICD and CPT codes and utilize electronic filing for reimbursement. Prerequisite: ADMN 1306
In rare and unusual circumstances, a course prerequisite can be overridden with the permission of the Curriculum lead for the discipline.
This course may include proctored exams which must be completed on campus or at an instructor approved proctoring center which may require additional costs to the student. Please consult your instructor for additional details.
