PHYS 1100 - Introduction to Astronomy

This general survey of astronomy includes a study of the constellations, gravitation and planetary motion, optics and telescopes, the nature of light, the solar system, stellar evolution, galactic structure and cosmology.

The course includes observation sessions using binoculars and telescopes. A knowledge of algebra and trigonometry is helpful but not required.
