Dear Students:
Welcome to Motlow College, a unique community college that is listed in the Community College Times as one of the fastest growing colleges in the country. We are excited about this national ranking and are looking to a future of expansion not only in size but in student opportunities as well.
The Motlow “main” campus is in the beautiful rural countryside of Moore County and was built in 1969. Since then, we have added campuses in Fayetteville, McMinnville, and Smyrna. Enrollment topped 4,000 for the first time in 2008 and continues to go up. But this number, while impressive, is not nearly as impressive as our students.
Motlow College students come in all ages and from many backgrounds. They are as diverse as the programs we offer them. Some enroll at Motlow right after their high school graduation. Some come to the college after many years in the workforce to retrain for an ever-changing job market. Many will transfer to 4-year universities, and others will seek employment after graduating from the college.
Our students are studying to become teachers, bankers, doctors, nurses, accountants and salespeople, and are found in communities throughout the Motlow 11-county service area and beyond. At Motlow they can choose from many courses of study and take classes in the traditional classroom setting, online, through videoconferencing technology, or in the block style as in our Adult College Express Program.
As you turn the pages of this catalog, you can read about these opportunities and many more. Whatever program of study you choose, and whatever your goal may be, we want to help you achieve it. Even though we have grown tremendously since 1969, our focus on teaching and learning has remained the same.
